LOMO in Kuala Lumpur

Lomography is a BIG MISTAKE. Don't agree? It is invented out of mistake. An expire film on a Russian made plastic lens a camera. There's no neutral ground. You either love it or hate it. That's why there's such movie called "From Russia with Love".

Today I visited Mid Valley new wing, The Garden. Not as big as I thought so. About half the length of Suria KLCC. Targeted on upmarket consumer. There I stumbled into this shops that sells all the cute, cool and weird stuff. On one shelf are the legendary LOMO cameras. I was stunned! This is the first time I came across a local shop selling. Awesomely cool. Thumbs up for the shop owner for bringing in.

Three words to describe Lomo cameras. Cute, weird and funky. Very plastiky feel, even the lens are made of plastic. Some with no viewfinder, blind shooting. Fisheye, panorama, multiple lenses, etc. There's even one expect you to focus incorrectly. Hey, that's the spirit of LOMO – MISTAKES. By the way, they ain't cheap. All are film cameras. Cost more than RM800 with one topping RM2000. The salesgirl doesn't allow me to take any photos in the shop, company policy. I only manage to take the storefront, with my PDA phone.

These are the few models available in the shop. To know more about the cameras, visit LOMO SHOP.
